I am this
Unique body
Just exactly this much
I never pretend to know what it is
But I know what it is not
It is not a fleshy cage for a ghost
No one haunts it from within
“Within” is not even special
Just exactly this entire body I am
Including all the stars
On all the seashores of all the worlds
And the way bodies everywhere touch
If only with words
And the way each body
Must say goodbye
Not from “within”
But from toes to crown
